What is acne?

Acne is a common skin condition. Some people only have a few impurities such as blackheads or whiteheads, while others suffer from severe inflammation, yet both conditions are referred to as acne. It’s a common misconception that acne only affects young people – you can also suffer from acne later in life. Excessive sebum production combined with an accumulation of dead skin cells can block the sebaceous glands. The acne that causes bacteria, P. Acnes, then multiplies in the sebaceous glands. Acne can have a huge impact on your self-confidence and your day-to-day life. Fortunately, these days there are some very effective acne treatments available.

What can you do yourself to combat acne?

Do you have acne? Then there are also things you can do to help repair your skin. This can have a huge impact on the effects of the treatments.

Acne treatment in Amsterdam

Choosing the most effective treatment for you depends on several factors, for example: the extent to which the acne is active, your skin type, and your personal wishes. Our skin therapist analyzes your skin and determines which acne treatment is the best for you. Acne can be effectively treated with chemical peels, Dermapen treatments, hydrodermabrasion treatments such as HydraFacials, deep cleansing, and laser therapy.

Laser treatment for acne

In a laser treatment, which uses blue and red light, the acne-causing bacteria are killed by a chemical reaction. Blue light kills the P. Acnes bacteria, red light reduces the inflammation.

This soothes and smooths the skin. A treatment program for acne is intensive, and you yourself play an important role in this. The skin therapist will advise you on the right cosmeceuticals (products with active ingredients for the treatment of acne) to use at home.

How long is a treatment program for acne?

You will need one to two treatments per week and a minimum of six treatments in order to get the best results. You may also need a follow-up treatment after three to six months.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/mkdf_elements_holder_item][/mkdf_elements_holder][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][mkdf_elements_holder holder_full_height=”no” number_of_columns=”one-column” switch_to_one_column=”” alignment_one_column=””][mkdf_elements_holder_item horizontal_alignment=”center” background-image-animation=”” item_padding=”0px 46px 0 0px” item_padding_680=”0 0px 0 0″ item_padding_769_1024=”0 30px 0 0px”][vc_column_text]

What kind of result can I expect from acne treatment?

Your skin will be a bit red and swollen immediately after the treatment, but this will go away on its own. Impurities and inflammations start to subside immediately after the treatment.

Regular acne treatment with deep cleansing and peels

Acne can be effectively treated with a combination of deep cleansing and chemical peels. During the cleansing we remove all impurities from the skin, such as blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. We then apply a chemical peel, which removes the top layer of the skin. This stimulates cell renewal and soothes and evens out the skin. It is essential that the right cosmeceuticals are used. We use HydraFacial products, for example. We also use Skin Tech, SkinCeuticals, and ZO Skin health peels. We often start with a HydraFacial treatment, or do a combination of HydraFacial and other peels straight away.[/vc_column_text][/mkdf_elements_holder_item][/mkdf_elements_holder][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”fadeIn” row_content_width=”grid” css=”.vc_custom_1596735122399{padding-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][mkdf_elements_holder holder_full_height=”no” number_of_columns=”one-column” switch_to_one_column=”” alignment_one_column=””][mkdf_elements_holder_item background-image-animation=”” item_padding_1367_1600=”40px 0 0 51px” item_padding_1025_1366=”36px 0 0 40px” item_padding_681_768=”55px 30px 0 0px” item_padding_680=”55px 30px 0 0px” item_padding_769_1024=”27px 0px 0 0px” item_padding_1025_1399=”0px 0 0 0px”][vc_column_text]
