NATURAL RESULTS WITH HYALURONIC ACID

Here at Amsterdam Cosmetic Clinic, we use the brands of temporary fillers: “Stylage, Teosyal, Belotero, Radiesse en Restylane”. These fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the skin. Hyaluronic acid can be found in various organs and, among other things, it helps to retain water in the skin. It also helps to keep the skin resilient, voluminous, and supple.

As you get older, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases, which can cause your skin to sag and develop wrinkles. The fat pads under the skin also lose volume and start to droop, causing loss of volume in the face. Fillers can restore that lost volume. Fillers with hyaluronic acid are a safe and natural solution against natural skin aging.

FILLERS WITH THE STYLAGE QUALITY MARK

Amsterdam Cosmetic Clinic has been officially approved by Stylage, for which we have been awarded the Stylage quality mark. This is awarded to clinics that use Stylage fillers in a safe and responsible way.

FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS

How long do fillers last?

Fillers usually last between six and 24 months, depending on how much filler you get and in which area it is administered. The effective duration of fillers builds up over time; the more often you have fillers, the longer they’ll last.

Can I be allergic to fillers?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are biocompatible. This means that they integrate naturally into the body’s own tissues without causing damage or triggering a defensive reaction. Hyaluronic acid is produced naturally by the body, which means that the chance of an allergic reaction is very small.

Will fillers change my face?

Our faces are constantly changing due to the natural aging process. Once you hit your mid-20s, the amount of collagen and elastin in your skin drastically decreases and the fat pads under the skin, which provide beautiful natural volume in your face, begin to disappear.

You can replace the natural fat pads with natural injectable fillers. And we use botox to halt muscle activity in order to prevent wrinkles from forming, thus keeping your skin looking even for longer. So botox can be used to help prevent signs of aging. Botox and fillers can therefore be seen as a way of preserving your own identity and beauty for as long as possible, so that you can continue to look like yourself for longer.

Will my skin sag once the fillers wear off?

No, fillers don’t cause sagging of the skin. In fact, it is your own skin that sags as a result of natural aging. Fillers counteract that aging process so that you continue to look like yourself.

Is it possible to dissolve fillers?

Yes, it is. To dissolve fillers, a liquid containing the enzyme hyaluronidase is injected using a very thin needle. It is a natural substance found in the body that breaks down hyaluronic acid. The majority of the filler dissolves within 24 hours. This treatment may need to be repeated several times to dissolve all the old filler. After two weeks you can have new filler injected.

Can I get fillers injected if I have permanent fillers?

No, if the fillers are in the area that you want to have treated, this is not possible. For example, if you have permanent fillers in your lips, we cannot inject other or temporary fillers in this area. This can cause severe inflammatory reactions. However, you do have the option of going to a specialist to have your permanent fillers removed. Permanent fillers include silicone oil, Bio-Alcamid, PMMA, or Aquamid. The use of permanent fillers has been prohibited in the Netherlands since 2015.

Can I do everything right away after a filler treatment?

After a filler treatment, the skin can be a bit red or swollen and bruising may occur in the injected area. We do everything we can to minimize this. You can use an ice cube or a cold compress to cool the swelling.

To ensure an optimal result and to avoid complications, it is important that you follow the advice below:

  • Do not exercise for the first three days and avoid perspiring.
  • Do not touch the treated area for the first eight hours after treatment. However, you may gently clean your face in the evening with clean hands.
  • Do not wear make-up on the day of your treatment.
  • Avoid using the sauna or solarium for the first week.
  • Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen for the first four days after your treatment because they thin the blood, which may cause bruising. You can, however, take paracetamol.
