Peels have a rejuvenating effect on your skin. They stimulate cell renewal and remove dead skin cells. The skin becomes more even, pigmentation spots fade, pores become less visible, and the skin appears renewed and rejuvenated. The right peel can reverse the process of skin aging and improve your entire skin structure.
Peels can be used as standalone treatments, but the best results are achieved when they are used in combination with a laser treatment. The right cosmeceuticals also play a key role. The use of cosmeceuticals depends on your personal situation; for example, you can use them prior to the peel treatment if you suffer from hyperpigmentation. These products start to slow down the formation of pigmentation. During a course of treatment, we use products which are suitable for skin that has just undergone a peel treatment and which protect the skin from the sun! After the treatment you use cosmeceuticals to maintain the result.
Peels are suitable for the treatment of:
SkinCeuticals is a leading brand in clinical skin care. Its products are popular among dermatologists, cosmetic physicians, and skin therapists around the world.
Three-part chemical peel that can be tailored to meet your needs. Improves hyperpigmentation and blemishes caused by the sun (sun-damaged skin). Pigment Balancing Peel accelerates cell renewal and tackles localized and diffuse hyperpigmentation. Ideal for oily and problematic skin types. It reduces post-acne pigmentation, reduces visible fine lines and wrinkles, makes the skin look more radiant, and increases the firmness of the skin. A series of six treatments – ten days apart – is recommended for optimal pigmentation improvement.
Specific Skin Tech treatment creams and a Cleanser Foam facial cleanser for home use form part of the treatment plan for medium and deep peels. These treatment creams have been specially developed to tackle particular skin problems (such as pigmentation spots, acne, fine lines, and scars, dry, poor, or dull skin) and to protect your skin from sunlight (UV) and heat (Melablock HSP® SPF 30 and 50+).
This Post-Peel Care not only maximizes the results of the treatment, but also prevents the risk of complications such as inflammatory reactions and the development of pigmentation spots. It is therefore very important that you use these creams for at least six weeks after the last peel. After that, you may decide to keep using them because they are so effective and compatible with your skin, or to go back to using your usual brand.
During the course of treatment, you cannot use your own day and night creams or facial cleansers, as they are not intended for use on peeled, fragile skin and almost always contain irritants (such as perfumes and acids) that can lead to adverse inflammatory reactions or other complications.
Deep peels are suitable for aged skin or skin with sun damage and/or deep wrinkles. They penetrate deep into the dermis, and are divided into deep, deeper, deepest. Peels that penetrate the deepest layer of skin ensure that the old skin is completely replaced by new baby-soft skin. Deep peels have a longer recovery time than less deep peels, but the results are tremendous.
Deep peels can also be applied locally, achieving an effect similar to a surgical procedure – such as a lower eyelid correction – without the need for surgery. They can also be used to remove smoker’s lines on the upper lip. We then use a medium-depth peel for the rest of the face.
The deep peels consist of phenol, often in combination with TCA. They are also a lot more expensive than the medium-depth and superficial peels, but the result is more than worth the investment. You reverse decades of skin aging!
