to your day.

What appeals to you about that 'glass skin' look? Often, it is the clarity: skin that looks calm, fresh and well cared for.

BBL can reduce pigmentation and visible redness and refine skin texture. SkinTyte also supports firmness. Together, they help us work towards a fresher appearance and skin that looks smoother and firmer.

  • A simpler routineKnowing which skincare suits you, so you spend less time wondering what to use.
  • Feeling happy to show your skinSaying yes to a spontaneous photo or meeting up, without first wanting to check your complexion.

Hydration, skin texture and daily skincare also contribute to a healthy-looking glow. We include these in your personalised advice.

Fresh-looking skin at every stage of life

Keep showing the skin you feel good in.

From your early thirties to your fifties and sixties: your skin goals change, but the wish to look fresh and well cared for remains.

In your thirties

Taking care of
that fresh-faced look.

The first spots after a summer, a complexion that looks a little less bright. You want to care for your skin thoughtfully and feel comfortable heading out with just your SPF. BBL may form part of a skin plan for early sun damage and maintenance.

In your forties and fifties

A calmer complexion again.
With less need to cover up.

You feel energetic, but sometimes your skin looks less fresh than you feel. You want to recognise yourself in the mirror again. A more even complexion and attention to firmness can help refresh your appearance.

In your sixties and beyond

Ageing with care.
With skin that glows.

You don't need to return to the skin you once had. You want to feel good about how you look now: bright, well cared for and vibrant. Your neck, hands and décolletage deserve that attention too.

Why we choose Sciton BBL

What is BBL?
BroadBand Light by Sciton.

BBL stands for BroadBand Light: an advanced IPL light treatment by Sciton. Using appropriate filters and settings, we treat concerns including pigmentation, sun damage and visible redness. People often search for 'BBL laser'; BBL itself is a light treatment.

Several skin goals. One targeted approach.

Think of broadband light as a palette of light colours. Special filters allow us to select the light that suits the concern we want to treat. This means we can address both pigmentation and redness in one session while working on overall skin quality.

Powerful, with comfort in mind.

Dual-lamp technology, adjustable pulses and contact cooling make BBL an advanced IPL system. We carefully control the light delivered while the cooled treatment head protects the skin's surface. This combines targeted skin improvement with treatment comfort.

HERO: fast, including beyond the face.

HERO can deliver light pulses in rapid succession. This allows us to treat larger areas efficiently: from the décolletage and hands to the arms, shoulders, back and legs. You can work towards more even-looking skin in several areas.

Light, simply explained

Targeting what your skin needs.

Filters select appropriate parts of the light spectrum. Each part of the treatment has its own purpose.

Pigmentation

A more even complexion.

Pigment absorbs selected light. This can help pigmented spots gradually fade.

Visible vessels

A calmer appearance.

Light is absorbed by the pigment in the blood to target visible vessels and redness.

SkinTyte warmth

Firmer-looking skin.

Infrared light warms the deeper skin and stimulates the collagen response to support firmness.

Explore the possibilities of BBL

Different skin goals.
A personalised approach.

This page introduces BBL for fresh, even-looking skin. But the technology offers more: from treating active acne to long-term hair reduction and skin firming. Explore which option suits your goals below.

01 / A more even complexion & skin maintenance

Forever Young BBL.

Skin that continues to feel like you.

Feeling energetic and looking fresh. With a more even complexion as your foundation and a routine that offers guidance, including for the years ahead.

Discover Forever YoungShow less

The Forever Young approach focuses on visible skin improvement and maintenance. We treat concerns including sun spots and redness and consider overall skin quality. At ACC, we combine this with SkinTyte for additional attention to firmness.

A personalised treatment schedule, appropriate skincare and daily SPF together form your plan. For less need to cover up and more ease in everyday life.

How we build your skin plan →

02 / Active acne & blemishes

Forever Clear.

Calmer skin. More ease in front of the mirror.

No more waiting to see where the next spot will appear. You want to spend less time covering up and feel more comfortable in your skin.

Discover Forever ClearShow less

Forever Clear is the BBL application for active acne. Blue and yellow light filters target acne bacteria and the redness associated with inflammation. This helps us work towards fewer inflammatory lesions and calmer skin.

We include your skincare and any other acne treatments in our advice. We usually plan several sessions and assess how your skin responds along the way.

More about our approach to acne →

03 / Long-term hair reduction

Forever Bare.

Less shaving. More spontaneity.

Packing your gym bag, going for a spontaneous swim or putting on that dress. Without hair removal always having to be your first thought.

Discover Forever BareShow less

Forever Bare uses light to target and heat hair follicles for long-term reduction of unwanted hair growth. The treatment head moves across the skin, using rapid light pulses and contact cooling for a comfortable treatment.

Because hairs are in different growth phases, treatment is delivered as a series. We tailor the course to your skin, hair colour and treatment area. The aim: less hair growth and a simpler daily routine.

More about hair reduction with BBL →

04 / Skin firming

SkinTyte.

Feeling comfortable with your contours.

You notice your skin feels a little less firm. You want to address that change with a treatment that fits comfortably into your life.

Discover SkinTyteShow less

SkinTyte warms the deeper skin with infrared light and stimulates the collagen response. It targets mild to moderate skin laxity. The even warmth is often described as a warm skin massage.

You can also book SkinTyte as a standalone treatment with us. We often recommend combining it with Forever Young, allowing us to work on a more even complexion and greater firmness at the same time. A standalone firming programme usually requires several sessions; improvement develops gradually.

Exilis is another skin-firming option at our clinic. SkinTyte uses infrared light, while Exilis uses radiofrequency. During your consultation, we advise which approach suits your skin and treatment area.

Tone, texture & firmness

SkinTyte

Greater firmness.

Feeling comfortable with your skin and contours, including in an open neckline. SkinTyte is included in our BBL treatment. Controlled infrared warmth stimulates the collagen response and helps improve mild to moderate skin laxity.

A personalised laser plan

When your skin
needs more.

For deeper lines, acne scars and more visibly enlarged pores, we can add HALO. For more pronounced skin ageing or laxity, we assess which additional approach may suit you, such as HALO or deep resurfacing.

01 / Understanding

Your skin comes first.

We discuss your goals, skin type, sun exposure, medication and previous treatments. We then determine whether BBL is suitable and what you can realistically expect.

02 / Treating

A targeted approach.

Good to know

Your questions about BBL.

Which skin concerns is BBL suitable for?

BBL is used for concerns including sun spots, uneven pigmentation, diffuse redness and visible fine vessels. It can contribute to a fresher appearance and improve fine skin texture. The neck, décolletage and hands can also be assessed for treatment.

Does BBL treatment hurt?

BBL HERO is generally well tolerated. You feel brief, warm flashes of light, and the cooled treatment head keeps the skin's surface comfortable. When targeting vessels, a flash may briefly feel like an elastic band snapping against the skin.

The SkinTyte part provides an even, deep warmth that many people find pleasant, similar to a warm skin massage. With rapid pulses, contact cooling and carefully tailored settings, we work on skin improvement with your comfort in mind.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on your skin, the concern being treated and your goal. Initial improvement may be visible after one treatment, but a series is often needed. Under our current treatment protocol, we generally plan 3–4 sessions around four weeks apart. Personalised advice and any maintenance are determined during your consultation and follow-up assessments.

When will I see results, and what will my skin look like at first?

Your skin may be red, warm or slightly swollen immediately after treatment. Pigmented spots may initially darken, then flake off or fade over the following days to weeks. Your complexion improves gradually, so avoid scheduling treatment just before an important occasion.

Can I get on with my day afterwards?

Many people can quickly resume their usual daily activities. You receive specific aftercare instructions covering skincare, make-up, exercise and heat, among other things. We assess what is appropriate for your skin's response.

Does BBL help with rosacea, facial redness and visible vessels?

BBL can reduce visible vessels and persistent redness, helping the complexion look calmer and more even. For visible facial vessels or rosacea, we assess which light settings and treatment areas are appropriate. Because rosacea can fluctuate, we also include skincare and any maintenance in the plan.

How long do BBL results last?

Reductions in existing pigmented spots and visible vessels can remain noticeable for a long time. Sun exposure and new skin changes also play a role. With daily SPF, appropriate skincare and a personalised maintenance schedule, we help you maintain your fresh appearance.

How much does a BBL treatment cost?

BBL HERO for the face costs €450 per session; Forever Young BBL maintenance costs €400. The price for the face, neck and décolletage is €850 per session. We treat individual spots from €150. A consultation including a VISIA Skin Scan costs €25 and is credited towards a treatment or product purchase. View the main prices and packages.

Is BBL suitable for every skin type?

No. Skin type, recent sun exposure or self-tanning products, medication and the type of pigmentation all help determine whether BBL is suitable. Melasma requires a separate assessment. During your consultation, we also discuss possible side effects, such as burns, blistering and temporary or permanent pigmentation changes.

What should I do before and after treatment?

Avoid sunbathing, sunbeds and self-tanning products around your treatment, and use a high-protection sunscreen daily. Tell us about medication and recent skin treatments beforehand; do not stop prescribed medication on your own initiative. You will receive personalised preparation and aftercare advice.

Will BBL also tighten my skin?

Yes, our BBL treatment includes SkinTyte. This uses infrared light to heat the deeper skin in a controlled way and stimulate the collagen response. It can improve mild to moderate skin laxity and help skin look firmer. We tailor the application and treatment areas to your skin. For more pronounced laxity or deeper wrinkles, we assess whether additional laser treatment, such as HALO or deep resurfacing, is appropriate. Your laser plan depends on the type and degree of laxity.

Does BBL also help with enlarged pores and texture?

BBL can improve skin quality and fine skin texture, which may make mildly visible pores less noticeable. For significantly enlarged pores, deeper fine lines or acne scars, we often add HALO. This allows us to match the intensity of treatment to your skin's needs.

What is the difference between BBL, IPL and laser?

BBL is Sciton's BroadBand Light technology and is a type of IPL light treatment. IPL uses a broad spectrum of light, while a laser operates at a specific wavelength. BBL HERO combines filters, rapidly repeated pulses and contact cooling, allowing us to target different skin concerns. We use BBL HERO; HEROic is a different model. Depending on your skin goals, we combine BBL with SkinTyte or an additional laser treatment.

What is the difference between BBL HERO and Forever Young BBL?

At Amsterdam Cosmetic Clinic, we start with BBL HERO to target concerns including pigmentation and redness. Depending on your skin, this may require several sessions. You can then maintain the results with Forever Young BBL. During your consultation, we tailor the treatment course and maintenance schedule to your skin.
